Learning Log - Creating
|
 |
| |
Creating your own Learning Log is a simple process of taking Four Steps. On the following pages
there is a simple format designed to take you through these steps.
1. Self Assessment (where you are now)
2. Setting Objectives (where you want to get to)
3. Action Planning (how you will get there)
4. Charting Progress (how you are doing)
These four steps are described more fully later. Many companies and institutes in the oil and gas industry provide support material and documentation to help you do these things. It is up to you to use those that fit your own circumstances.
Whichever format you use you will need to adopt a systematic and long-term approach if you are to get the benefits. The Learning Log is a living thing ( it must be used and maintained if it is to be of real value. For example you might want to refer to it as part of an annual performance appraisal process or perhaps when completing your annual Tax Return. Consider it part of assessing your current and future market value. At all times it is worth remembering that this is your plan so be honest and realistic about what you enter in it. The return you get out of it will be proportional to the investment you put into it.
