Salary Negotiable (+ Staff Benefits) Staff PositionOur Client, a Major International Offshore Oil & Gas Engineering Contractor, requires Rigid Pipeline Engineers to work at their Aberdeen based UK Head Offices Role, Reporting to the Rigid Pipelines Manager will involve Project Support, providing a link between project management teams and the division. Liaising with project management teams to clarify aspects of the work and complete tasks within timeframe. Become involved with on-going R&D programmes. Work may include design, analysis, testing or site visits to optimise pipeline design or to develop and qualify new pipeline products. Contribute to technical publications and marketing to highlight the technical expertise within the Company. Candidates should hold degree in Mechanical, Civil or General Engineering, with a thorough grounding in the theory and techniques of structural engineering. Preferred (but not essential) with a post-graduate qualification in subsea or pipeline related engineering Must be numerate and fully computer literate with familiarity with structural engineering analysis. Preferably have 3 years relevant experience, although graduate entry is feasible for outstanding candidate. Ability to apply engineering principles to the full range of offshore rigid pipeline design and installation problems faced by the Company. Such problems will include pipeline installation from Company vessels; thermal design; wall thickness designand pipeline stability. Preferred candidates will have previous experience of subsea pipeline engineering problems, particularly in the specialist fields of reel lay and J-lay pipeline installation techniques. Experience with use of Orcaflex and/or Abaqus. Offshore installation or construction experience is also relevant.
