POSITION DESCRIPTION: The candidate is to: Be responsible for providing professional education and training in marine engineering. Serve as an expert Instructor in one or more of the following disciplines - Steam and Diesel Propulsion Systems, Auxiliary and Electrical Systems, Machine Shop, Hydraulics, Refrigeration, Maritime Safety Courses, etc. Maintain the highest level of technical expertise in the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Standards of Training, Certification, and watch keeping for Seafarers (STCW) and international standards, laws, and regulations relating to the training and certification of seafarers.

SELECTION CRITERIA: The candidate should have: Chief Engineer Unlimited Certificate of Competency. Valid STCW-95 certificate. Minimum of 5-year experience at sea. Minimum of 5-year experience in the maritime training field. Ability to teach all the required safety courses for mariners. Ability to develop training manuals for any new course. Flexibility to teach onshore and offshore. Flexibility to work to any work schedule.

COMMENTS: Marine Department provides marine services to other company departments, including material and crew transportation, berthing and unberthing of oil tankers, offshore security and pollution control, and /or support of offshore drilling and production activities.
