POSITION DESCRIPTION: Conduct research and provide consultation related to artificial lift technologies, especially in the area of Electrical Submersible Pumping (ESP). Identify, monitor, and assess new technologies relevant to artificial lifting to reduce production cost, improve well performance, and increase safety. Generate new ideas, develop research projects, and conduct field trial programs for new equipment. Analyze trial results and make recommendations for design improvement and field deployment. Prepare technical reports and publish technical papers in international technical conferences.

Required Skills/Experience: The candidate is required to have broad experience and advanced knowledge in artificial lift selection, design, and optimization. Experience in wellbore hydraulics, well completion, and multiphase pumping is required. Extensive field experience in ESP system design, field installation, and diagnostic analysis is highly essential. Knowledge of technology limitations with vendor systems is required. Be able to use common nodal analysis programs and artificial lift design computer models. Ability to mentor young professionals is required.
Required Qualifications: Candidate should hold an advanced degree, preferably Ph.D., in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related subject (e.g., Mechanical Engineering). The candidate is should have extensive combined experience in the oil industry, academia, and/or government related to artificial lift technology. Excellence in research will be evidenced by the candidate's publications, invited presentations, patents, professional awards and honors, and professional society activities.
