Boots & Coots is searching for a talented Project Specialist-Drilling for a rotation position in Algeria. Supports company project manager and country manager. Provides guidance through knowledge of operations and practices in the oil and gas industry. Provides training to clients about a wide range of drilling subjects such as well design, tubular design, wellbore stability, drilling hydraulics, mud selection, solids control, environmental considerations, bit selection, rig selection, drill string design and drilling optimization. Assures drilling operations are consistent with overall strategy of client. Evaluates, selects, and applies adaptations and modifications for drilling and well control operations utilizing knowledge of drilling metrics and drilling technology. Maintains a consistent client-focused approach and active team approach philosophy. Assesses potential opportunities and impacts and communicates such to all organizational levels. Demonstrates strong basic communication and active listening skills. Interfaces with functional and operational client personnel at several levels providing leadership and coaching to facilitate continuous HSE performance improvement. Assists in development of procedures, and implementation of processes which have been established to ensure compliance and adherence with applicable standards, requirements, processes and best practices. Activities may include inspections, audits, assessments, safety meetings, risk identification, risk analysis, risk assessments, incident reporting, incident investigation, environmental issues and compliance. Participates as advisor to client HSE Engineers Conducts audits, assists in development of audit protocols, manuals, checklist. Demonstrates ability to effectively work in a multilingual and multicultural environment. Identifies needed improvements in current practices and contributes to best practices. Conducts training and drills as applicable.
