International Oil and Gas Operator currently seek a Senior Legal Advisor in Aberdeen to undertake a broad ranging role within the legal department of their North Sea business. You will enjoy exposure to a varied workload, including providing legal advice on acquisition and divestment activities, joint ventures, and transportation and gas sales, as well as ad hoc employment law and HSE advice. As a senior member within the department, you will work closely with the Legal Manager and an attractive salary and benefits package is on offer.

Exciting, challenging and varied role within the Legal department of this international Oil and Gas Operator. The role will involve:

Job Specification:

Providing guidance and legal advice to internal teams across the organisation on Acquisition and Divestment activities
Providing legal advice on upstream oil and gas agreements, including licensing, joint operating, crude and gas sales, farm-out, proximity and crossing, asset purchase and sale, and decommissioning.
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial contracts.
Advising on the acquisition and disposal of licence interests in the UKCS.
Managing external legal counsel where required.
Providing ad hoc legal support in the areas of employment law, HSE law and competition law.
Working closely with the Legal Manager and deputising for them during periods when they are out of the office.
Person Specification:

UK qualified solicitor with experience of the oil and gas industry gained in an in-house team or respected energy department within private practice.
Skilled in drafting and negotiating high value and complex commercial agreements, particularly relating to upstream oil and gas matters.
Ability to share knowledge with and to support less experienced colleagues
Excellent communication skills
