Our Client a Major International Offshore, Subsea, Oil & Gas Engineering Contractor, requires a Senior Structural Engineer to be based at their UK Head Offices in Aberdeen. To be involved in the day-to-day management & execution of activities in the following key areas:
Pipelay equipment engineering; Subsea & surface vessel structural engineering; Flexible pipe ancillary equipment engineering; Subsea equipment installation engineering.

Office based role, working on calculations & supporting projects remotely.
A key member of the team, needing considerable technical & professional experience to deliver optimum solutions for project support & R&D activities.
Project Support - Provide the main link between project management teams & Company.
Liase with project management teams to identify motives for any given work request, ensure the scope of work agreed is suitable & that task is completed within the agreed timeframe.
Provide support in the most convenient location for the project team.
Effectively manage on-going Research & Development programmes to ensure they are completed to forecast schedule & budget.

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should have an analysis background, ideally with hydrodynamic experience .
A high quality honours degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture & preferably additional post-graduate qualification in subsea engineering or naval architecture.
Have at least 5 years relevant experience & must be an expert in the application of structural engineering principles to complex structural analysis & structural aspects of equipment design problems.
This diverse range of activities requires considerable breadth of engineering knowledge & an innovative approach to engineering problem solving.
Previous experience of subsea & vessel engineering problems is preferred.
