- Develop the electrical engineering scope for maintenance and capital projects.
- Review the IFR, IFC and CWP packages for electrical components of the projects.
- Support the maintenance in troubleshooting efforts of electrical equipment problems.
- Day to day trouble-shooting and long range optimization of electrical systems and equipment.
- Support Turnaround planning and execution.
- Support the plant production department in identifying and resolving the electrical issues.
- Ensure all new electrical installations are safe, reliable, appropriate, and conforms to all applicable electrical codes and engineering standards.
- Support electrical equipment and electrical system reliability and integrity programs
- Evaluate and recommend programs, systems and tools to enhance the electrical system efficiency, reliability and safety.
- Develop and maintain electrical engineering standards and specifications relating to electrical equipment & systems.
- Oversee and ensure that any contractors assigned to your responsibility meet quality, cost and schedule targets.

Required Skills/Experience: - A degree in electrical engineering with eligibility for registration with APPEGA
- 8-10 years proven plant site experience as an electrical engineer in an operating petro-chemical industry is desired.
- Versed in current statutory regulations, industry standards and recommended practices and a practical sense in applying such references
- Technical strength coupled with good people skills
- Excellent planning and execution drive to deliver results and meet quality, cost and schedule targets
- Ability to work in an unstructured environment to help develop new systems and infrastructure.
- Must have strong PC skills and professional written and verbal communication
Desired Skills/Experience: The successful candidate will also have experienced in or have a good understanding of the following:
- Plant site electrical distribution systems with strength in medium and low voltage and some competency in high voltage systems
- Design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and trouble shooting of electrical equipment. This includes MCC, Switchgears, Motor, Generators, Power Transformers, VFD, UPS and EHT
- Electrical system reliability and safety
- Area classifications and specification of plant site equipment
- Electrical system maintenance and projects requirements
- RCA, FMEA and HAZOP
- Demonstrated commitment to safety in an operating plant environment
