Electrical Engineer (Design of Subsea Power Systems)

The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Currently EDC is working on the products of three GE Infrastructure businesses: GE Aviation, GE Energy, GE Oil&Gas.

For EDC Oil&Gas we are looking for Electrical Engineer.
Duties include:
· Performing electric calculations of power subsea systems or/and subsea power equipment by use of established calculation tools like ANSYS, EDSA, SIMSEN
· Modeling, simulation and analysis of power transmission with HV cables, utilizing branch software with output data evaluation for design of: HV switchgear, umbilical connectors penetrators, casing, enclosures and other power equipment in subsea conditions
· Understanding the particular subsea requirements and available products to optimize the system solution
· Definition of technology gaps and proposal of qualification programs will also be a part of this work
Status: Contract
Required Skills/Experience: · Experience/practice requirements: 3 years + in design and development of power transmission and distribution and/or electrical power products (VFD, HV Switchgear), HV connections etc, demonstrating good all round engineering experience
· Experience in operational use of ANSYS software
· Basic knowledge of reliability evaluation and calculation
· Knowledge of International Standards like IEC and IEEE
· English fluent verbally and in writing
· Skilled and trained in Safety on High Voltage Installation and Testing
Desired Skills/Experience: · Knowledge of Oil & Gas Subsea installation, operation, maintenance requirements will be appreciated
Required Qualifications: · Electrical Engineering BSc. degree (Electric Power Transmission and Distribution) and/ or equivalent minimum. Additional training in design of subsea power systems and power equipment etc will be beneficial
Minimum Experience: 3 years
