The Engineering Design Center (EDC) is one of GE Infrastructure global engineering sites, created in 2000 based on an Engineering Alliance Agreement between GE Aircraft Engines and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. EDC consists of two companies: GE Company Polska Ltd. and Warsaw Institute of Aviation. Currently EDC is working on the products of three GE Infrastructure businesses: GE Aviation, GE Energy, GE Oil&Gas.The Umbilical Engineer will report to a Subsea Oil and Gas project manager; the projects may vary in scope from studies to EPC projects. Communication: The Umbilical Engineer will communicate daily with the project manager on the telephone, and via on-line collaboration tools (WebEx) He/she will communicate with vendors and clients via telephone as required by the project manager. In general, the Umbilical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that outsourced umbilicals meet the customer requirements and industry specifications. This responsibility will include all phases of umbilical procurement from initial tendering to final product acceptance. Specifically: - Review/prepare, issue and file project documents, reports, procedures, etc. - Review suppliers and customers documentation. - Monthly reporting. - Follow up of interfaces, suppliers, manufacturing and participate in required testing. Technically responsible in relevant projects Shall lead/participate in design & design reviews Training: - A minimum of one month immediately following hiring will be spent in Norway (Oslo area) receiving product specific training with GE Oil and Gas. - The level of on-site training will be determined based upon the amount of prior experience. Required Skills/Experience:
|
· Shall be familiar with relevant standards (Norsok, ISO, IEC, ASME, API, etc) and design requirements for subsea products · Experience/practice: Minimum +3 years experience with Subsea Control and/or Power Umbilical engineering/manufacturing · Experience in operational use of ANSYS, AutoCAD software · Knowledge of International Standards like IEC and IEEE · Fluent in verbal and written English. All telephone communications and reports will be conducted in English. Reports are expected to be of professional quality and require little or no additional editing upon submission to the project manager
