Our Clients, Major International offshore contractors in the oil & gas industry, active in Offshore Transportation & Installation, Pipeline & Subsea Construction, require a Snr Pipeline Engineer to work in their Subsea / Pipeline Design Dept at their UK Projects offices in Surrey. We are seeking engineers with relevant experience in subsea & pipeline engineering, who are familiar with relevant codes & standards & in the use of pipeline design engineering software.

To join a team of pipeline engineers performing conceptual or detailed design engineering for a project. Performing general submarine pipeline design engineering including analysis for wall thickness, stability, free span, expansion, bottom roughness & global buckling.
Perform general pipeline engineering activities on a project including static & dynamic analyses for pipelines & flowlines, for installation & operating conditions, including sizing, on bottom stability, allowable free span definition, route optimisation, fatigue analyses.
Production of calculation reports & input to & checking of drawings in accordance with Company standards.
Preparation and/or review of project specifications for materials, protection, concrete coating, thermal insulation, cathodic protection, fabrication, welding, hydrotest & installation for rigid or flexible flowlines & trunklines, diverless connection & installation systems, subsea intervention works.
Interface with other project disciplines for the definition & management of engineering activities particularly related to pipelines, flowlines & risers design plus subsea intervention systems.
Development or testing of specialised engineering software tools to assist pipeline engineering activities. This may include creation or modification of in-house spreadsheets & databases, or testing & validation of proprietary packages

Qualifications & Experience:
Degree qualified in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Aeronautical discipline, preferably Chartered, Experience in engineering design of pipelines & flowlines for offshore oil & natural gas transportation & production systems.
In design of pipeline related facilities such as risers, templates, tee & valve assemblies including protection covers, will also be highly preferred.
Familiar with Word. Excel and/or MathCad plus specialist software dedicated to the analysis of pipelines & flexible or rigid risers.
Preferably (not essential) with experience in the use of FEM techniques for modelling non standard pipelines & risers.
