Job Purpose:
Participate in the implementation of continuous improvement practices and processes related to the Sub-Surface Group’s business enhancement effort. Assist with the overall initiatives including: managing changes to systems, methods, procedures and strategic management to help identify, implement and manage continuous improvement business enhancement initiatives within the Sub-Surface Group. The focus is on improving current business practices and processes.
Coordinate/ team lead assigned business enhancement projects and/or special projects. Such projects may be multi-disciplinary, and may extend across single or multiple Sub-Surface Group departments.
Participate proactively within the business enhancement section and the Continuous Improvement Department to deliberate and discuss strategies and options to enhance current business practices and processs; with the objective of enriching and complementing various departments of the Sub-Surface Group. May work directly with Sub-Surface Group management on a deputized basis.
The Business Optimization Advisor is a staff member within the Sub-Surface Group’s Continuous Improvement Department; his key responsibilities and tasks include:
a) Reviewing current business enhancement practices and processes in the Sub-Surface Group’s departments to identify opportunities for improvement or innovation.
b) Working closely with the Sub-Surface Group’s management team and staff to champion and advise on the implementation of recommended changes to existing practices and processes, anfd/or the initiation of new practices and processes.
c) Undertaking business studies to integrate overall initiatives for the management of changes to systems, methods, procedures, and strategic business actions to help identify, implement and manage continuous improvement opportunities for the various Departments within the Sub-Surface Group.
d) Developing and standardizing written procedures for current and recommended business enhancement practices and processes. Ensuring that the procedures are documented and controlled according to company standards; and that the documentation is up to date, available to all users, approved by the appropriate management, minimizes the use of hard copy, and is consistent with company policy.
e) Ensuring that the business enhancement practices and processes undertaken within the Sub-Surface Group are serving the purpose for which they were intended, meet or exceed Industry standards, and add more value to the company than the cost of implementing and performing them.
f) Coordinating/team leading business enhancement projects and special projects as directed by Sub-Surface Group management.
g) Championing the business enhancement concept and process within the Sub-Surface Group management team and staff.
h) Assisting with enhancing the Sub-Surface Department’s communication and data security practices, processes, effectiveness and efficiency; thus allowing the line departments to focus on core business processes in the timeliest manner possible.
i) Ensuring that the required databases, including but not limited to the business enhancement, lessons/learned, and Sub-Surface Group needs planning and administration, are created and/or maintained; and that the tools required to maintain, disseminate access to, and report on the data bases are available and running effectively.
j) Ensuring that continuous improvement business enhancement initiatives are serving the purpose for which they are intended, are best in class, and add more value to RasGas than the cost of implementing and utilizing them.
k) Developing “business practices and process” benchmarks to ascertain the Sub-Surface Group’s relative performance worldwide.

Required Skills/Experience:
• Minimum +15 years diversified and multi-disciplinary industry experience spanning business administration, work flow processes evaluation, continuous improvement practices, quality management, and project management.
• Has a high level of business process experience through previous experience.
• Possesses strong analytical skills in problem solving and decision making.
• Requires some understanding of offshore development and subsurface operations.
• Strong English and communication skills.
• Possesses good leadership qualities and a team player. Displays good inter-personal relations.
Required Qualifications:
BSc in Engineering or equivalent.
