Position Summary

This is an influential position within BG Advance for the Operations LNG Business Sector. You will be responsible for driving the business to achieve the goals set in the operations blueprint as well as co-ordinating operational support required by BG LNG Joint Venture and Operated facilities – the target - to achieve desired, operatability, safety reliability, maintainability and availability targets.



Key Accountabilities
The key accountabilities for this role include being the Technical Authority for all LNG operational activities. To achieve this you will need to ensure BG Standards and Guidelines recognise and are incorporated with the LNG sector needs. Particular attention will be given to HSSE to ensure that people work within and promote a culture of safety at all times.

You will ensure standards are implemented in the LNG sector where applicable and that all dispensations are authorised when standards and guidelines can not be met in BG operated LNG Assets.

In addition you are the focal point for readiness reviews, involved with the development and management of key LNG Asset Audits and Reviews by setting the annual functional review programme based on the ability of Assets to manage risk, and leading functional technical reviews, recording and tracking P1 (priority 1) actions raised.

Delivery of the LNG Technology programme is key to the role and will be executed by:
• Managing the in year programme,
• Communicating to and creating the Asset pull for implementation of technology,
• Shaping the future programme,
You will drive the organisational capability of the LNG operations community by creating the right learning offer based on technical and personal competency development needs.
Driving the recruitment, succession and deployment needs of the LNG community in line with the cross business Operations agenda is vital to improve the function capability. And you will coach and mentor operations staff continually developing potential.

Management of LNG operational performance, tracking asset integrity KPI’s, developing and tracking key operational measures and providing day to day support to tackle key operational issues are essential requirements.

You will provide operational input to new development opportunities and projects and be the first point of contact for operations in any new LNG assets, ensuring the right operational resources are assigned to projects through each stage of development.

Providing specialist operational technical input to Exploration and Production, Transmission & Distribution and Power businesses as required.
Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. In addition to any specific accountabilities for HSSE, all managers are accountable for HSSE within their area of the Business and are responsible for ensuring that their team adopt exemplary HSSE behaviours.

Required Skills/Experience: Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
• Proven operations input into LNG Projects both terminals and the liquefaction plants.
• Experience of pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of greenfield LNG projects and debottlenecking of brownfield projects.
• You will have managed operations of LNG facilities at Operations Manage / Plant Manager Level
• As an LNG Industry professional you will have lead and managed safety and loss prevention and be adept at working with different cultures.
• Technical degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• HSSE leadership skills particularly relating to LNG Operations, to include Emergency preparedness and response.
• Computer literacy
• Expert knowledge of Design, Planning, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, Asset Integrity and Abandonment issues relating to LNG Liquefaction plant and regassifications terminals.
