Process Control Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop specialist knowledge of several control and instrumentation systems providing full technical support across all process areas on-site ensuring future yield and quality demands are achieved.

• Develop existing and integrate new SCADA Control systems, where possible introducing new technologies, throughout the site to aid process performance, safety, reliability and efficiency.

• Manage and execute instrumentation installations and control systems integration for both minor and major projects.

• Ensure that automation systems are reliable, robust, validated and conform to regulatory and GMP standards. Also, that all software programs are installed to S88 guidelines.

• Conduct internal audits on a wide scope of control & instrumentation systems to ensure compliance with standards and maintain audit readiness.

• Provide authorised technical expertise for the Technical Risk Review Process to ensure maintenance schedules and routines are established.

• Evaluate and recommend new technologies prior to application to ensure added value to the business.

• Work with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to ensure integration of technical support across disciplines.


Candidate Requirements

• Qualified in a relevant engineering subject, HNC/degree

• Appropriate experience in a Chemical process manufacturing environment including strong instrumentation background

• Excellent C&I systems knowledge

• Chartered (or in process of becoming) Engineer status

• Evidence of providing a quality driven and customer focused approach to both operations and projects.

• Understanding of Good Automation Manufacturing Practice

• Highly motivated, proactive and have demonstrated ability to operate within teams

• Excellent organisational/planning, communication and influencing skills with an ability to work without close supervision

• Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) trained

• Previous experience beneficial with Siemens, Allen Bradley, Emerson and Honeywell Control systems would be of great use for this position.
