Senior Electrical Engineer - Bristol

• Interpretation of international codes and standards, contractual information, customer specifications and system design specifications.
• Preparation of project documentation e.g. functional design specifications (FDS’s), factory acceptance test (FAT) procedures, operation and maintenance manuals etc. and product support documentation e.g design record sheets (DRS’s) for calculations, CE files, design review check lists etc. for specific Electrical products.
• Conceptual design of product in accordance with FDS requiring instruction of (and liaison with) Designers to provide design schemes and subsequent detailed drawings.
• Co-ordinate and conduct (or supervise) qualification testing of new products and/or fault diagnosis of returned products in the Engineering laboratory
• Extensive liaison with suppliers and customers to discuss technical specifications, manufacturing queries, procurement queries etc. Expected to represent Vetco Gray in a technical capacity at any level (internally or externally)
• Supervision and/or mentoring of Engineers, Industrial Placement Students and Electrical Engineering Graduates, as required according to task
• “Time and Budget” management of off-line indirect engineering initiatives linked to engineering process improvements, feasibility studies, product development/improvement, product qualification etc
• Provide a consultation service of “specialist” (or broad electrical product) knowledge for the electrical engineering team (and other relevant parts of the organisation) as required

Required Skills/Experience: • Demonstrable Oil and Gas industry experience
Required Qualifications: • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Eng; or HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Eng with a full apprenticeship; or equivalent
