Senior Inspection Engineer Location: Aberdeen Salary – Very Competitive with attractive benefits package The Client: My client is a global oilfield provider of engineered services and products primarily to the offshore oil and gas industry, with a focus on deepwater applications. Through the use of its applied technology expertise, they also serve the defense and aerospace industries. The Role: As Senior Inspection Engineer you will: • Be responsible for the effective provision and operation of inspection systems and services to the allocated offshore platforms to ensure that plant and equipment is certified in accordance with Company and Client codes of practice, strategies and offshore legislation ensuring feedback of results to client Asset Group. • Ensure agreed inspection strategies, procedures, standards and plans are implemented and completed by Offshore Personnel and any failures, variations and amendments are fed back into the Company Technical Integrity Team and the Client representative. • Maintain direct and regular contact with Asset Teams in order to ensure an effective Inspection service. Specifically input into shutdowns and programmes to ensure inspection requirements are clearly identified and scheduled. • Review and endorse inspection reports to ensure they comply with the relevant standards. Instigate appropriate remedial action for any non-compliance and ensure that inspection frequencies are maximized. Co-ordinate and action results from associated failure investigations/significant anomalies. • Coordinate and participate in periodic plant and equipment history reviews in order to maximize plant availability. Ensure the effective application of new techniques, technologies and use of specialist NDT contractors to limit intrusive inspection so as to maximize inspection intervals, where appropriate. • Liaise with third parties such as related service providers, verification bodies etc. to ensure the client business objectives are achieved. • Manage the CTR (Cost, Time & Resource) process, and assist in budget preparation.The Requirements: • Degree in Engineering related discipline preferably chartered. Lesser qualifications will be accepted provided exceptional experience in inspection engineering can be demonstrated. • At least 5 years experience in a Senior Inspection discipline • Extensive experience in the field of plant and equipment in-service inspection. • Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of design, manufacture, materials, corrosion, welding, codes, standards and legislation associated with the in-service inspection of plant and equipment. • Must be familiar with QA/QC practices, NDE techniques. • Able to generate a team approach to problem solving and an excellent communicator The Rewards: • Highly competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to progress in an international company.
