Responsibilities and Duties:
* Support initiation and implementation of electronics sourcing plans, improving the overall performance of OFT’s supply chain in line with agreed measures
* Identify and develop potential new sources of supply both locally and globally capable of delivering sustainable benefit for OFT
* Introduce and drive to completion low-cost sourcing strategies with both existing and new suppliers
* Manage supply base rationalisation and simplification through supplier selection/approval/management.
* Interact with all levels of management, suppliers and customers for the purchases of goods and services, allowing OFT to meet often aggressive deliverable timelines
* Identify and leverage where possible the global sourcing opportunities available to a GE business unit whilst maintaining a local focus.
* Responsibility for the day-to-day sourcing of electrical components at more than one site in the UK maintaining cost effective secure supply at al times.
* Identify areas for continuous improvement related to the sourcing process internally and externally.
* Continually assess the global marketplace to meet OFT’s future needs, developing strategic supplier relationships where appropriate.
* Use knowledge of forecast, projected needs, supplier capacity, inventory goals and lead times to buy material in a timely and cost effective manner.

Required Skills/Experience: * High level of knowledge in sourcing Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEM) services and electrical components
* Knowledge of marketplace for end of life electronic components
* Risk management skills capable of identifying and mitigating potential risks as they apply to all areas of sourcing
* Proven record in cost reduction with experience of low cost sourcing
* Demonstrable knowledge of sourcing methodologies / principals and supplier relationship management
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
* Sound knowledge of contracts and supply agreements
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
* Ability to work cross functionally
Required Qualifications: * Substantial experience buying electronic components and working with CEM’s
* Creation of supply chain strategies for electronic components and assemblies
* Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and e-Procurement tools
* Knowledge of the principals of six sigma
