• Supports the external compliance function including liaison with external auditors, tax and customs.
• Co-ordination of the statutory accounts.
• Proactively identifies new accounting standards applicable to the
business and develops appropriate implementation strategy.
• Co-ordinates the quarterly balance sheet reconciliation process and reporting.
• Supports the internal audit and corporate audit functions / information requirements.
• Supports compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (particularly sections 302 and 404) including the documentation of key controls and processes.
• Interpret and implement GE General Accounting Procedures (GAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Supports the accounting, financial reporting, financial control and
information systems to ensure adequate records, ensure appropriate authorizations of transactions and safeguard assets.
• Initiate process improvements and supports finance system and control implementations.
• Works effectively with business leaders to proactively drive key initiatives to successful conclusion.

Required Skills/Experience: • Qualified Accountant
• Substantial experience in a variety of accounting positions
• Demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad
company objectives.
• Integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization.
• Involved in long-term planning.
• This role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional areas area of expertise.
Desired Skills/Experience: • Project Management
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
