Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To produce accurate Estimates in the schedule available.

DUTIES:

1. To keep information of developments in design, construction and estimating techniques in the process plants and associated industries.

2. To establish and agree with the Manager, FH Commercial Ops, the scope, basis and methodology of the estimate.

3. To produce or supervise the production of the estimate based on the agreed methodology and job specifications.

4. To prepare estimating data as requested by Manager, FH Commercial Ops, including data required for reviews and presentation to clients.

5. To ensure that the estimate is consistent with the information received from the design groups and with all the job specifications and documents.

6. To co-ordinate obtaining quotations from suppliers, in a timely manner, to support bid estimates.

7. To liaise with the design groups to optimise the cost estimate in line with market trends and vendor information.

8. Review estimate produced by assigned engineers to ensure the quality of the estimate is acceptable.

9. To review each estimate with the Manager, FH Commercial Ops, to confirm the correct estimating methodology has been used and agree the quality and accuracy of the estimate and contingency level if appropriate.

10. Complete arithmetic checks of estimates produced.

11. Be responsible for preparation of approximate cost estimates and comparative cost studies.

12. When required, to prepare an indicative total cost estimate within 24 hours to support bid decisions.

13. Check and sign off all pages containing price information, prior to Proposal issue, to verify consistency with estimate.

14. Analyse estimate to assess extent of risk and make recommendations on proposed level of contingency.

15. Ensure electronic and paper filing completed in line with Work Practices.
