Our Client has a vacancy for a Graduate Electrical Engineer based in Aberdeen. This is a contract position. Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting in assuring the Electrical technical integrity of facilities, including offshore process plant structures, pipelines and onshore process facilities through developing and maintaining control systems to ensure there is understanding and compliance with the Technical Integrity Performance Standards. Ensure the provision of effective Electrical engineering expertise, acting as focal point for Electrical engineering assistance, directing and controlling Maintenance and Engineering activities to ensure work is adequately prioritised, planned and executed and that performance targets are met. Responsible for the definition of the workscope for Electrical job-packs for routine, non-routine, shutdown and modification tasks and assisting other groups with Electrical input to multi-discipline tasks. Review planned maintenance routines and carry out optimisation studies within the Electrical discipline to minimise the cost of maintenance whilst retaining an acceptable level of plant and equipment reliability. Provide Electrical design and analysis to enable the safe and efficient implementation of modifications within project targets, and assist in the preparation of project/operational work plans. Provide clarification of, and responses to technical queries from offshore installations and the Flotta Terminal. Ensure that all activities are executed in compliance with all current and future offshore legislation, agreements, regulatory and company standards affecting Maintenance and Engineering activities, and are consistent with best engineering practice. Provide support on maintenance and certification activities, advising on and approving proposed modifications to facilities in consultation with management. Ensure that all appropriate Electrical engineering, maintenance and technical records including plant history are updated as required. Provide technical advice and guidance in the field of electrical systems and equipment to production personnel. Promote technological innovations that can be economically exploited to improve safety or production performance for facilities. Define standards for the preparation of basis of design, calculation methods, rules and regulations for project workscopes. Carry out offshore site visits and risk assessments as appropriate. Review the types of stock holding levels of Mechanical equipment held as spare parts, and optimise the inventory, stock management and co-ordination of the ordering of spares in conjunction with the Materials and Contracts group. Participation in Emergency Response team as required. Provision of Electrical support to facilitate day to day operations and maintenance on agreed sites in accordance with the Management Strategy. Ensure that work activities undertaken as defined in Management Strategy Document are registered in the Work Register and reported on a regular basis. Experience: Degree qualified in an Electrical engineering discipline. Preferred option is a trainee graduate engineer looking to gain operational work experience. Should possess some maintenance and operations experience within the oil and gas industry. Knowledge of current and developing electrical regulations (IEEE, Electricity at Work) is desirable and protocols and how these relate to Production Operations is essential along with good knowledge of national and international codes and standards relating to electrical engineering where appropriate.
