Company Profile

Petroleum People’s Geoscience practice has been sourced to secure the expertise of a greatly experienced Geologist for a global operating company in Europe. This business has an enviable portfolio of both operated and non-operated acreage around the world, and with a healthy daily production, they are able to offer the stability, investment and resources of a major, but with the more flexible operational structure of a smaller independent. The company is committed to global exploration through the drill bit, along with a strong track record in M&A. They now seek a seasoned Geologist to join their Global Exploration Team.

As a suitable professional, you will join a dedicated team of highly specialised Geoscientists who perform a mixture of New Ventures/Exploration and Appraisal with particular interest in the MENA, West Africa and South America. Your main charge will be to perform regional studies in order to identify and screen new business opportunities at the basin and play scales in support of License rounds and farm-in/acquisition activity internationally. You will be given full license to follow this up with lead and prospect identification and evaluation which will include risk and volumetric analysis, to ultimately aid in the submission of well proposals.

As this role is aimed at an experienced Geologist, you will naturally have a minimum of 15 years in the Oil and Gas industry with a recognised Operator. You will have worked on a variety of international basins and depositional environments. Experience of having worked on pre-salt and deepwater plays would be particularly advantageous. You will be a strong seismic interpreter of both 2D and 3D.

Attraction and retention of professional expertise is of paramount importance to my client’s continued success, and as such they regularly review remuneration packages on offer to ensure that market leading salaries will be offered.
