Purpose:
Ensure quality and effective Mechanical Maintenance and Engineering services to plant and facilities.

Responsibilities:
Ensures efficient and cost-effective delivery of mechanical maintenance and engineering services for the plant, including all offshore and onshore plants and facilities, offsite and utilities.
Plans and coordinates the activities and resources of the Mechanical Maintenance Unit to ensure effective maintenance of plant’s mechanical equipments.
Participates in preparation of Capital and Operating budgets.
Monitors and reconciles capital and operating expenditure against planned budget for Mechanical Maintenance & Engineering Unit.
Investigates and redresses any variances to ensure effective cost control and review performance.
Monitors and oversees the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and planned shutdowns.
Liaises closely with Operations and Technical Services to plan and coordinate major shutdowns and turn-around activities.
Reviews any mechanical engineering project plans and drawings.
Provides technical advice and assistance, and makes recommendations based upon field observation and maintenance needs.
Conducts engineering studies to determine the feasibility of introducing modification to increase reliability and efficiency of plant.
Reviews and discusses maintenance and engineering work progress, performance and related issues with supervisors.
Evaluates work methods and procedures used in maintenance repair and engineering.
Receives, investigates, and resolves complaints related to mechanical equipment performance. Identifies opportunities for improvements and recommends changes/upgrades to maximise production yields, output and profitability.
Identifies and recommends requirements for specilised contractor work.
Monitors contractor’s performance and quality of services to ensure compliance with their contractual obligations.
Supports Operations and Technical Support, providing engineering and project management services for minor projects including the planning, execution and supervision of the works.
Monitors the quality and performance of mechanical maintenance and engineering programs against the KPIs and ensures continuous improvement of services.
Takes Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) lead in ensuring safe systems of work/safe conditions are in place within area of responsibility.
Demonstrates visible commitment to HSE by periodically leading/taking part in risk assessments, audits, HSE meetings, emergency drills, etc.
Ensures assigned staff complies with all company HSE policies & procedures and related initiatives.
Monitors the progress of the assigned Qatari national developees and makes recommendations on how to support their learning and progression.
Monitors and manages mechanical maintenance and engineering staff performance. Participates in annual performance appraisal of staff.
Performs other similar or related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Substantial experience in Mechanical Engineering and Maintenance in Oil & Gas.
Substantial experience at Supervisory level.

The salary for this position is $8000 - $8100 USD per month plus benefits.
