Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a civil engineer on an agency basis working on site in the process industry. The ideal candidate will have executed projects in the refining, chemical or pharmaceutical sectors. Reporting to the Lead Civil Engineer, you will have a flexible approach to work, be well motivated and possess the ability to work in a team and take responsibility for others. You will be required to produce accurate, high quality work to tight deadlines, and will be responsible for the following: · Reinforced concrete framed buildings · Reinforced concrete piperack structures· Reinforced concrete support structures for equipment · Reinforced concrete foundations · Reinforced concrete water retaining structures · Drainage design You will be familiar with the following British Standards: · BS 8110 Structural Use of Concrete · BS 6399-1 Code of Practice for Dead & Imposed Loads · BS 6399-2 Code of Practice for Wind Loads · CP3 : Chapter V: Part 2 Basic data for the design of buildings – Wind Loads · BS 8004 Code of Practice for Foundations · BS 8007 Code of Practice for Design of Concrete Structures for Retaining Aqueous Liquids.
Requirements
Ideally you will also have experience of Reinforced concrete foundations/structures for rotating/reciprocating machinery to CP 2012 (Code of Practice for Foundations for Machinery) and DIN 4024 (Machine Foundations) You will be familiar with using StaadPro Structural Analysis software. The position also requires involvement in: · Estimating · MTO’s · Checking · Site Surveys · Structural Steelwork design to BS 5950
