Our Client has an opening for a Head of Emergency Response Services. This is a permanent position, based in Nigeria. Purpose: To plan, organise, manage, coordinate and deploy company Fire Brigade workforce, Fire Protection assets and resources towards effective Fire Prevention, Protection & explosion hazards control and recovery, in order to save lives and property, in line with company/group Fire & Explosions Strategy and best practices standards. Responsibilities: Plan & establish specifications for all fire vehicles, equipment and systems involved in fire loss prevention and containment operations so as to assure response readiness. Interpret and disseminate relevant laws, codes of practice and standards so as to assure fire loss prevention and control, and devolve high level Fire Safety policy documents/philosophies to shop floor details for use by asset teams corporately. Review Fire Protection aspect of technical drawings, and subjecting new designs to Hazards & Effects analysis so as to obtain optimum fire-safe designs of company assets. Liaise with SIEP on Fire Protection best practices standards, equipment specifications, and other internal/external response groups in order to assure a concerted mutual understanding/assistance during fire and explosions management for all company facilities. Knowledge, Skills & Experience required: High technical aptitude in Fire Risk evaluation, Systems Protection requirements, Control and containment philosophies. Thorough knowledge of Pre-Fire planning, fire suppression technique, rescue and emergency incident techniques, including Fire Service administrative principles and philosophies, methods, and practices related to modern fire department activities. Ability to manage and evaluates Fire Command programs and knowledge of local/international fire precautions and protection codes, regulations and standards including technical aptitude in design and engineering drawings in relation to fire protection systems and projects. Knowledge of company fire and explosion strategy in the context of HSE MS, Main fire risks and hazards associated with company facilities. Must be professionally sound with diverse Technical/Engineering. Must be able to read, understand, assimilate and interpret Fire Safety aspects of Technical drawings. Knowledge of the principles and practices of Fire Prevention, Protection, Fixed Fire Installations, Emergency Planning, and Disaster Management, and be able to relate with staff and third party Emergency Response Teams. Must have had extensive Fire fighting and Fire Command experience through training at an approved Foreign Fire Service training institution. (Divisional Command Course as minimum). Strong leadership qualities, Certified through training as Divisional or Brigade Commander with a high record of integrity & consistency in decision-making. Development of policies and long-term strategic Fire Risk plans. Training & Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Fire Science, Fire Engineering, Fire Technology, Disaster management or related science. Substantial Fire Service experience in an organized oil & gas fire protection function.
