Petroleum People’s Geoscience practice has been requested to secure the expertise of a greatly experienced Geologist for a major operating company in Stavanger. This business is a household name with an enviable portfolio of operated and non-operated acreage around the world. Their position in Norway is integral to their success in Europe, which is why they are firmly committed to its continued success. As a result they are further strengthening their exploration effort, culminating in the current requirement for a seasoned New Ventures Geologist.As a suitable professional, you will join a highly technical team of subsurface professionals to help strengthen the company’s Norwegian portfolio. This will involve studies at the regional and block levels, generating and evaluating new plays and recommending business plans to senior management on future new business opportunities. You will also examine competitors’ portfolios on the Norwegian shelf to identify farm-in and acquisition potential, which is why a solid understanding of Norwegian geology is a prerequisite. As this role is aimed at an experienced Geologist, you will naturally have a minimum of 15 years in the Oil and Gas industry with a recognised Operator. You will have spent the majority, if not all of this time working on the Norwegian shelf. This role will involve seismic interpretation of both 2D and 3D.
