Foster Wheeler is currently recruiting for a staff Specialist Engineer to provide coatings and insulation expertise at our head office in Reading.

Requirements for the role include the following:

· Applicant should possess engineering based qualification but would consider training suitable experienced applicant looking for career change from construction background or sub-contracting.

· Coating, insulation and fireproofing experience desirable, particularly from an engineering contractor perspective.

· However applicants from other associated fields (paint labs, materials testing) may be considered providing they can demonstrate commitment and a genuine interest in achieving coatings and insulation specialisation.

The work will include:

· Preparation of project standards and specifications in the field of paint, coatings, insulation and fireproofing including selection of materials.

· Preparation of sub-contract documentation for site and shop applied coatings and insulation scope of work and subsequent review of bids for painting and insulation works including sub-contractor proposals for labour and materials.

· Follow up visits to vendor works and sites to deal with identification and resolution of technical problems are required on a periodic basis.
