Job Description
The execution of project work, in accordance with the Discipline Design Instructions, including Foster Wheeler and/or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control, within the man hour and cost budgets and the project schedule targets. The technical standard of engineering, design and draughting, within Discipline Project Assigned Team, as applicable. Identification of any Project Specific Discipline Practice required. Review the project execution schedule by the Cost and Planning Department. Identification of any Project Specific Discipline Practice required. Develop equipment specifications and prepare material requisitions for switchboards, generators, motors, UPS systems and other required electrical equipment. Issue material requisitions to Materials Management Department for enquiry, order placement and for any subsequent revisions. Prepare the master Requisition Index and update and issue it on a regular basis. Decide on project area classification and give guidance to other Groups on the correct application of electrical equipment and materials. Review Suppliers' quotations, prepare technical quotation evaluation and recommend the final technically acceptable Supplier, in conjunction with Materials Management Department commercial quotation evaluation. Technically approve Variation Summarises. Hold co-ordinating meetings and engineering review meetings with Suppliers of major equipment as required. Carry out the following functions relative to Supplier documentation: Review document requirements and issue dates for major equipment with Suppliers at the pre-order meeting. Compile a Suppliers' Document Index (VDI), update and issue it on a monthly basis. Distribute Supplier documentation to the various Engineering and Drawing Office Groups and co-ordinate their comments. Prepare consolidated comments and return these to the Supplier. Correspond with the Supplier on Technical matters and ensure that action is taken where necessary. Liaise with Materials Management Department to obtain all necessary Supplier information, in particular review with the Materials Management Department for expediting of Supplier Documentation which is late. Liaise with the Project Engineer regarding information required by the CAD Design Engineers. Issue copies of final documentation for inclusion in the Mechanical Catalogues. Provide assistance to the Materials Management Department on inspection and witnessing of tests of major equipment as required. Liaise with other Groups and Client as necessary but in particular: With the Mechanical Equipment, Instrument, Utilities and with Project Groups in relation to electrical equipment and controls associated with packages to ensure compliance with Project Standards and requirements. With Design CAD and Section in relation to electrical matters and review of critical drawings. With the Project Engineering Manager on matters of project co-ordination and programme, plant safety, and work scope that could constitute a contract change. With the Clients' Electrical Engineer on technical matters concerning electrical equipment. Assess progress and procedure associated reports and input to the DMS. Derive and suggest plans to recover slippage and correct inefficiency and to take any resulting agreed actions. Advise the Chief Electric
