Job Description
The purpose of this role is to define the operational needs of our projects including operations implementation planning, green-field site assessments, due diligence operating plant assessments and also to assist in the development of the operational role within the Commissioning group.
Requirements A successful career path and senior management position in a manufacturing / operations role in the energy sector, with proven experience of the following; - Management roles within Operations and interfaces with Maintenance, Technical Services, HSEQ, HR and Corporate Operating management.
- Knowledge of Operating Company performance benchmarks, for example Solomon Associates key performance indicators.
- Understanding of Operating Company and Engineering Contractor interfaces.
- Commissioning, start-up experience, knowledge of good practices to ensure smooth ‘right first time’ start-ups.
- Thorough understanding of the management and control tools and methods required to achieve best in industry performance.
- Experience in conducting audits and assessments of management, operational and technical aspects of manufacturing organisations.
- Overseas experience (Gulf and Far East) preferred.
- Flexibility is essential as occasional international travel will be required - usually of relatively short duration, but often with little notice
Responsibilities
- To ensure FW and Client Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures are followed at all times and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all your work.
- Provide a focal point for Operational Management Services within the Commissioning Group and provide guidance on Operational Management issues to our departments and projects.
- Ensure that technical developments and best practices relating to modern plant operation are incorporated into our Operations, Plant Performance Assessment and Training Management and Operations Implementation Planning (OIP).
- Remain up to date with refinery and other petrochemical facility economics, current best Operations practices, and key performance indicators.
- Keeps abreast of SmartStart practices, procedures and implementation requirements for supporting projects.
- Develop and maintain a capability to audit and assess process plant business performance in terms of Facility, Operational, Maintenance, Safety, Training and Environmental management.
- Provide technical expertise and support to business winning activity as required.
- Support internal development and continuous improvement activity as required.
- Support the development of effective interface management between Construction, Commissioning and Operations during project development.
