Job Description

The individual will;

  • Provide technical and supervisory support to all offshore projects in Foster Wheeler’s Oil and Gas portfolio.
  • Primarily be responsible for topsides design input in conceptual studies, optimisation work and FEEDs as part of a large team or the lead of a smaller team.
  • Be responsible for the technical coordination of the multiple components that comprise offshore platform topsides design: layouts, process, utilities, accommodation, life support and preservation, weight control, safety and environmental.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and produce designs and services to meet these needs.
  • Provide technical support to business winning activities as required and be able and willing to coach and mentor less experienced staff.

This role is for a permanent staff member, although, we may also consider agency or fixed-term-contract basis.



Requirements

  • Requires previous experience in working in upstream Oil and Gas development and production areas. Possesses a broad knowledge of all the components parts of topsides design and able to challenge and influence the study team members to develop technically sound and optimised solutions. Possesses a good working understanding of the disciplines that interface with topsides design i.e. sub sea, jackets, drilling and reservoir technology.
  • Has a strong and up to date background in conceptual studies and FEED level offshore facilities design and has experience of project control and scheduling.
  • Preferred qualifications: engineering degree or equivalent and Chartered Engineer.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to enable him/her to work in and provide a cohesive role in multiple-discipline groups at conceptual and FEED level.
  • Must have experience of 5 recent offshore projects in FEED or EPC phase.
