Requirements
- A successful career path in a contracting consultancy role in the energy sector, with proven process modelling and design experience in the refining, chemicals, sectors, and demonstrable expertise in Steady State Process Simulation, Dynamic Simulation, Discrete Event Modelling, RAM Modelling, Linear Programming, and QRA gained with a major multi-national contractor, technology provider or consultancy. As well as demonstrating extensive hands-on experience of process modelling, the successful applicant will be an experienced team leader.
- Chemical Engineering degree (minimum)
- Chartered Engineer (desirable)
- Flexibility is essential as occasional international travel will be required - usually of relatively short duration, but often with little notice
Responsibilities
The Process Modelling Manager will be the custodian of Foster Wheeler’s expertise in a number of Process Modelling techniques including steady state process simulation, dynamic simulation, discrete event modelling, RAM modelling, linear programming, and QRA. The responsibilities of this role will be discharged through a distributed team of process engineers specialising in process modelling. The Process Modelling Manager will have the responsibility for ensuring that all Foster Wheeler projects understand their process modelling needs and that the plan for delivering them is documented and includes our best expertise and knowledge. This responsibility will encompass not just those projects in the Reading office but also those executed out of our regional offices and in India. In addition the Process Modelling Manager will have responsibility for: · promoting our achievements and plans in process modelling in both internal and external platforms · training and development of our staff in this area · identification, coaching and mentoring of the modelling experts of the future · capturing our knowledge in the relevant technical Standards and tools. · ensuring FW and Client Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures are followed and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all your work. · Provide technical expertise and support to business winning activity by defining technical scope, manhours estimates, execution plans, and schedules etc as required. · Remain up to date with the latest technical developments in your fields of expertise and provide and develop appropriate technical solutions for specific project issues.
The Individual
- Extensive experience of the process modelling techniques, preferably including Steady State Process Simulation, Dynamic Simulation, Discrete Event Modelling, RAM Modelling, Linear Programming, and QRA
- Excellent team leadership skills
- Self motivated, and proactive with excellent verbal and written communication skills and good organisational awareness.
- The ability to plan work and provide clear technical direction.
- Demonstration of customer focus and ability to respond to customer needs whilst achieving project and corporate objectives.
