The purpose of this role is join our team of Process Safety engineers taking responsibility for all Process Safety issues and deliverables on Foster Wheeler’s projects – at all stages of the design phase and also providing support to HSE consultancy as required. Requirements - A successful career path in the energy sector, with proven relevant design safety experience, and a background in QRA, reliability, and engineering safety review gained through project execution with a major multi-national contractor.
- Chemical Engineering degree (minimum)
- Flexibility is essential as occasional international travel will be required - usually of relatively short duration, but often with little notice
Responsibilities - Ensure FW and Client Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures are followed and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all your work.
- Carry out process safety design activities, following client and Foster Wheeler standards and procedures to schedule and budget as advised by your project line manager.
- Develop, review, and take responsibility for the accuracy of process safety deliverables on our projects.
- Prepare written Health and Safety plans and philosophies.
- Conduct Safety studies and risk assessments both qualitative and quantitative.
- Conduct Safety and Environmental reviews and audits.
- Conduct Reliability and Availability assessments
- Conduct HAZOPs and HAZIDS, sometimes as Chairman.
- Supervise the work of your assigned reports on the project, and assist in the mentoring and development of junior staff as requested.
- Remain up to date with the latest technical developments in your fields of expertise and provide and develop appropriate technical solutions for specific project issues.
- Provide technical expertise and support to business winning activity as required.
- Support internal development and continuous improvement activity as required.
The individual - Demonstrable ability to lead the safety discipline in a project environment
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (spreadsheet, database and word processing)
