Job Description

This role resides within Foster Wheeler’s Oil and Gas Division (OGD)- a specialist Upstream Consultancy service provider which draws on some of the best minds within the oil & gas industry.

The role provides technical leadership and management of all project activities on any conceptual or feasibility study in the Oil and Gas Division portfolio. The individual may also provide input to other oil and gas projects of a larger nature (FEEDs or EPC) or other projects within FW.

Key functions are to;

- manage the study’s business and commercial objectives and drive the execution strategy to optimise Foster Wheeler’s profit potential. Ensure that technical compliance or excellence is achieved as required. Inspire and provide the platform for innovative ideas to provide an appropriate solution to the project business and technical needs.

- Be responsible for HSE, technical accuracy, quality of design and delivering the study to satisfy contractual requirements (including, schedule, budget, guarantees). Demonstrate excellent customer focus and be aware of and respond to customer needs whilst still achieving project and FW goals. Establish strong networks and good rapport between all project parties and successfully manage the study team and all interfaces.

The role will also require the individual to provide support to business winning activities as required and coach and mentor less experienced personnel.

OGD is supported by the experience and expertise of one of the worlds leading global engineering and construction contractors. OGD offers an exciting and technically advanced approach to value creation & value added engineering on a wide range of projects from small conceptual and pre-Feed studies through to providing expert consultancy services to the wider Foster Wheeler organisation on FEED and EPC contracts. This role is for a permanent staff member, although, we may also consider agency or fixed-term-contract basis.

Requirements

  • Experience in leading project teams in Upstream oil and gas projects on conceptual studies. The candidate will have led the development or execution of at least three Oil and Gas projects,(Preferably Offshore) have co-ordinated multiple disciplines, provided cost estimates and innovative technical solutions as project deliverables.
  • Technically driven managers with good project management skills capable of delivering technically excellent solutions to our clients on time and under budget.
  • Degree qualified in an engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum or similar). Chartered Engineer.
  • Proven and excellent project execution skills. Technically competent, excellent project management ability, respected by all project stakeholders and able to control and direct multiple disciplines and in particular the intimate networking and team working needs in a small team environment.
