Essential Job Functions:
Plan and execute a broad program of well operations in a field office location. Includes coordination and preparation of activities associated with well interventions for acid and frac stimulation, asphaltene and salt removal, coiled tubing cleanouts and stimulations, well tests, bhp sampling, and production logs.
This role is characterized as the engineered implementation of a strategy developed in the Client headquarters based at Hassi Messaoud.
Mentor national engineers.
Prepare detailed workover, intervention and completion procedures for oil, water and gas injection wells. Keep informed of advances in completion technology and become a subject matter expert for regional well operations.
Organize and initiate operational studies to montior well performance and effectiveness of programs. Recommend improvements to operational methods and procedures.
Determine solutions for problem wells.
Assist with preparation of capital and operating expense budgets and potentially be a leader in the process. Help in budget tracking, well activity tracking, and periodic forecast modifications. Monitor dedicated contractual arrangements with service companies and prepare bid packages for management approval.
Design programs to reduce operating expenses. Focus attention on processes that maximize production, improve reserve recovery, and sustain profitability.
A good understanding of completion design and reservoir knowledge is beneficial to enhance interaction with the subsurface asset team in planning and execution of development and data acquisition programs. Interact with reservoir and production engineers performing analytical analysis.
Work with other departments such as maintenance/construction, facilities, plant, well and surface operations, safety, and logistics to execute field optimization. Be a liaison to facilitate timely system improvements.
Support and contribute to projects that improve the surface operations. Be involved in the systems and equipment that control the wellsites, the production gathering system, gas distribution and water injection systems. Occasionally, contribute to work of surface production engineers and operators in the group and interact with measurement and allocation processes.
Responsibilities include managing well site supervisors and may require on site well supervision.

Required Experience:
Experience in production/operations engineering with more than average field experience in performance of well interventions on acid and frac stimulation, cased hole logging, slickline operations and coil tubing operations.

Additional experience/requirements:
Valid International Drivers Licence required.
Knowledge of French an advantage.
Ability to work in a culturally diverse, remote and challenging environment.
