Key Aims of the role

To support the Technical Services team with regards to materials engineering including fabrication, welding, non-destructive testing, insulation materials and installation, corrosion protection and fireproofing.

Responsibilities

- Provide input on material selection
- Welding & Fabrication specification development inline with company and client requirements
- Review and Qualify Welding Procedures
- Review and Quality Welding Consumables
- NDT procedure development
- Insulation – preparation of detailed specifications and ancillary components & preparation of installation procedures for insulation systems
- Coating systems – prepare specifications for corrosion protection and fire protection coating systems
- Tolerance systems – specify global and detailed tolerance systems for fabrication, erection of tanks, vessels, pipework and structures

Qualifications

- BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Welding, Metallurgy or Materials Science, a HND/HNC will be acceptable for experienced candidates.
- Desirable – Cswip welding inspector / European Welding Engineer

The position is based in the North East with travel to the client site in Europe and is offered on a 12 month contract basis.
