A Major LNG Operator requires a Process Safety Engineer to join them on a $1.0bn+ CapEx project to recover LNG boil-off gas being flared at the LNG loading terminal be based at the EPCM contractor's offices in either UK or USA (subject to EPC award) for an initial period of 12-18 months for the detailed design stage and then transfer to site for the construction, commissioning and start-up of the plant at Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC) in Qatar.Main Responsibilities: - Lead the Owner's Process Safety effort for the execution phase of a project in Ras Laffan City, Qatar. - The biggest challenge is the lack of EPCM contractor's skilled and experienced resources. - Primary responsibility is the review of all Process Safety Engineering deliverables of the EPCM contractor and provision of timely guidance to the EPCM contractor on all Process Safety Engineering related matters. - Review of vendor design documentation and incorporation of vendor's design into the detailed project engineering. - Support the other PMT engineering disciplines and construction, commissioning and operations teams - Interface with the company's in conjunction with the Project Interface Engineer. - Interface with the company's team based in Doha for standards, technical guidance and lessons learned Future candidates will meet the following criteria: - Minimum of twelve (12) years technical experience in Oil and Gas Process Safety discipline with minimum five (5) years specific involvement in project design, procurement, construction, and start-up for major process facilities, preferably working on behalf of an owner. - Experience with first tier contractors and worldwide suppliers, in particular those involved in the construction of major onshore oil and gas facilities, preferably working on behalf of an owner. - Minimum of five years' experience in building oil and gas facilities in the Middle East - Extensive experience and detailed knowledge of high pressure and cryogenic gas hazards - Specific and detailed application experience with the Quantitative and Qualitative risk assessments, HAZIDs, SILs, HAZOPs, Bow-tie analysis - Familiar with applicable international codes and standards. - Bachelor of Science in Chemical or equivalent Engineering
