Our Client has a vacancy for a Senior Electrical and Instrument Designer based in Aberdeen. This is a contract position. As Senior Electrical and Instrument Designer, you will be responsible for preparing project drawings and documents, using the appropriate software. You will check the designs and drawings of the design team for accuracy, and make sure that they conform to technical specifications. As Senior E&I Designer, you will also keep up-to-date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements. Other responsibilities include: Being proficient in the use of CAD software. Ensuring Document Management System is maintained to current procedures. Conducting site surveys and reports. Participating in tuition and guidance of trainee designers. Ensuring deliverables are completed within budget and time schedule. Ensuring compliance with current CAD draughting standards and procedures; participating in the development of CAD systems. Immediately informing the Lead designer of any factors which are liable to affect man-hours and/or the completion of deliverables Ensuring that no work outside the original scope is undertaken without approval from the Lead Designer or Lead Engineer. Responsible for the adherence to design safety in conjunction with the Lead Designer and Senior/Lead Engineers. Ensuring all relevant specifications, codes, standards and procedures and technical instructions from engineering are being correctly applied. Reviewing planning charts and other planning documents confirm correctness of sequence of operation, by date and time intervals. Education & Qualifications: Instrument or Electrical HND/HNC or equivalent. Skills/Training required: Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications. Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Microstation. BOSIET Offshore survival certification. Current offshore medical certificate. Experience required: Relevant experience in an engineering industry, preferably petrochemical. Experience of offshore/onshore site survey practices and procedures. Knowledge of materials used within the discipline. Knowledgeable in the application of discipline design principles. Substantial relevant knowledge and experience. Ability to investigate and interpret data.
