Senior Reservoir Engineer
Leading global independent exploration and production company is looking for outstanding subsurface professionals to join their Aberdeen based operations team to deliver their life of field development plans. Recently approved investment in excess of £400mm for 2010+ drilling activity has identified the need to recruit for a Senior Reservoir Engineer as well as Geophysicists and Geologists. The operated assets are due to embark on an expected four year continuous drilling programme with other prospects and discoveries being readied for drilling and development as applicable.
The Senior Reservoir Engineer will be responsible for generating and implementing ideas to increase production and reserves from the companies existing North Sea assets. This encompasses operational reservoir engineering, maintenance and use of reservoir simulation models, use of classical techniques, and close liaison with geoscientists, well engineers and operations engineers to identify, evaluate and implement value adding opportunities.
Duties:
- Provide input to reservoir monitoring and production optimisation by working closely with operations staff
- Update and maintenance of field simulation models working closely with geoscientists
- Use simulation models, analytical tools and a detailed understanding of well and reservoir performance to identify, evaluate and justify production enhancing opportunities including interventions, workovers and infill drilling opportunities
- Identify risks, uncertainties and upside potential and incorporate into decision making process
- Liaise with studies engineers and geoscientists for simulation model rebuilds and other studies projects
- Provide input to the long term reservoir development and management strategy
- Provide input to independent yearly reserves estimates as input to the Corporate Reserves certification process
- Provide input to long term and short term production forecasts for each asset
Requirements:
- Relevant engineering degree
- At least ten + years experience in petroleum/reservoir engineering is desirable, with a number of years with an operator
- UKCS experience preferred
- Experience in running ECLIPSE reservoir models, material balance modelling, and decline curve analysis
