Basic Function and Scope :
Assist in the operation of the assigned areas/units by monitoring operations of static and rotating equipment and taking actions under instructions to vary conditions, inspecting fire and safety equipment in area, taking samples, handling chemicals and preparing assigned units for maintenance.
Knowledge should cover more than one unit and the Senior Operator is usually assigned to more than one unit of varying complexity.

Tasks and Duties :
Checks and observes on an ongoing basis, the proper functioning of assigned plant and equipment by reading gauges, levels, amperages and recording such findings on a log sheet, identifying the equipment, the specific reading and time and date of occurrence.
Informs the Shift Supervisor or Panel Operator of any unusual observations such a noise, spillage, critical gauge readings and leakages, and makes process adjustments in accordance with instructions from the Panel Operator.
Checks the level of chemicals needed for the assigned operational units, ensuring that chemicals levels are maintained at correct level in each assigned unit. Informs the Panel Operator if chemical levels require replenishment.
Checks the presence and proper condition of all safety and fire equipment in their designated area such as checking of seals and pressure gauges, the condition of hoses and fire blankest, reporting any abnormal occurrences to the Panel Operator.
Assist in the preparation for maintenance of assigned equipment in accordance with Daily Instructions by performing a number of preparatory activities such as purging of vessels, closing of valves, draining of pumps and cooling down heaters.
Records information in various log books in accordance with pre-determined schedule. Readings include gas flow, pressures and temperatures and alerts Supervisor or Panel Operator of untoward operating conditions including increased equipment temperature, leakage or vibration. May take emergency shutdown actions in accordance with instructions from Panel Operator.
Starts ups, shut-downs, isolates and regulates area equipment flows as instructed.
Ensures that all equipment is kept free of oil and grease and that the area is kept tidy and may request additional help for general clean up with the approval of the supervisor.
Responsible for the support of Company Safety, Environment and Quality policies and programs, and carrying out specific duties and responsibilities related to their job as spelled out in Management system documentation, policies, procedures, local documentations, Management System Manual, Safety Manual and other related documents.

Work Contracts:
Internal contacts on a frequent basis principally with immediate work associates and/or other operators and maintenance employees at own level to provide instructions and coordinate maintenance isolation work.

Minimum Requirements :
Completion of HSC (12th Std) education followed by formal training .
Extensive plant operating experience in oil/gas industry including substantial experience in a similar Oil & Gas Processing facility.
Good working knowledge of English. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely on Plant Radio Network.
