Purpose / Role
Provide a single point of contact (SPOC) for customer (MPN & NMPC) and AMEC for all activities associated with a project scope of work.
Manage delivery of a project scope of work through engineering, detailed design, procurement, fabrication, project services and construction related activities.
Member of the MIPS Contract Project Management Team

Key aims and objectives
Deliver Project work scope of work in line with MPN, NMPC and AMEC expectations
Ensure that all work is exercised in such a manner that safety is not compromised
Encourage “Right First Time” service to the customer
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the project team and the MIPS contract team
Drive cost effective and timely execution of the scope of work for the customer and AMEC
Ensure local staff are utilised
Ensure all staff are developed

Prime responsibilities and duties
Ensure that the project scope of work is defined in a written document that has “buy in” from the project team
Ensure that a robust project plan and cost estimate are developed, owned and understood by the project team
Ensure resource requirements are adequately defined, identified and allocated to the project
Monitor and control project performance against budget, schedule, and quality and safety requirements using appropriate control tools and reporting of same to customer, project team and MIPS project management team
Ensure safety in design and construction through the application of a defined hazard management process
Ensure changes in the project scope of work are identified, defined and managed through the change control process
Ensure project risks are identified and defined, and managed through the risk management process
Ensure that contract agreements between AMEC and its subcontractors are such that AMEC interests are protected
Manage sub-contractors and vendors to deliver scopes of work in line with project expectations
Work to achieve Nigerian Content Directive requirements
Ensure achieved project milestones are recognised

Allied occasional duties
Represent the Company at external functions, roll-outs and communication sessions
Participate and contribute to Company Emergency Response Process and procedure
Assist and support other project managers within MIPS
Carry out any additional roles to support the MIPS Project Management Team

Key internal interfaces
Hold formal KO meetings with all disciplines involved with the project scope of work
Hold regular progress meetings to identify holds points, potential changes to project scope, schedule or cost estimate and ensure clarity of scope
Advise disciplines of any changes to scope received from customer to ensure “buy in”
Liaise with MIPS Contract Project Director and Project Management Team

Key external interfaces
Liaise directly with customer SPOC on all aspects of the project scope of work
Liaise with other AMEC offices to ensure transfer of best practice
Liaise with sub-contractors and vendors

Required Skills/Experience: Brownfield oil and gas experience
Offshore experience
Good communication skills
Business and Commercial Awareness
Good understanding of multi-discipline activities
Ability to take lead role in coordinating other disciplines
Delivery focus
Good understanding of customer drivers
Required Qualifications: A degree in appropriate discipline
