Leading global independent exploration and production company is looking for outstanding subsurface professionals to join their Aberdeen based operations team to deliver their field re-development plans. Recently approved investment in excess of £400mm for 2010+ drilling activity has identified the need to recruit for a Senior Development Geophysicist, as well as Geologists and Reservoir Engineers. The operated assets are due to embark on an expected four year continuous drilling programme with other prospects and discoveries being readied for drilling and development as applicable.
The Senior Development Geophysicist will play a vital role in an integrated multidisciplinary team with responsibilities covering the interpretation and integration of variety of geophysical and geological data relevant to the interpretation of seismic data over producing fields. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the Geophysicist will also have joint responsibility for identifying future infill drilling opportunities for field development planning.
Duties:
- Carry out detailed 3D seismic interpretation, time-depth conversion, DHI and AVO modelling to identify by-passed hydrocarbons
- Provide structural and (as appropriate) property maps of defined reservoir horizons, risks and sensitivities for the geological modelling
- Review existing interpretation and mapping of seismic data
- Recommend seismic acquisition, processing/re-processing and special geophysical studies as required. Supervise these projects and provide interpretational support
- Work with the subsurface team to identify infill drilling opportunities and optimise field development plans
