My client require a Materials Engineer for Mauritius or Libya Airport.1. MISSIONS Giving approval for material to be used and on the way the material to be used Ensuring material comply with specifications and standards Caring out inspections and audits about material and report to the Construction Manager. 2. LINES AND STAFF RELATIONS He refers to the Construction Managers and the Supervision manager 3. SKILLS AND RESONSIBILITIES 3.1. Skills At least 10 years professional experience working for a construction organization. Knowledge of the materials international standards and be aware about local supply availabilities, practices and regulation. 3.2. Responsibilities Monitor the technical preparation of material supply Review materials submittal and give approval for material to be used, and on the way the material to be used Give advice to client and contractor regarding material issues Check that laboratory and test equipments required for test comply with specifications and standards. Define inspection procedures for materials inspection, instruct inspectors and random check inspection quality. Carry out regular site visits and inspections and then report to the Supervision manager and construction manager. Monitor and record defects and deficiencies, and prepare defect notice to transmit to the Contractor for immediate and corrective actions.
