Due to a significant restructure and after continuous growth, this well established multi-billion RAND turnover South African Engineering and Contracting business seeks to appoint a Senior Level Commercial Manager to report into the board.

The client operates in Southern Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australasia and North and South America from its home-base in Johannesburg and has over 30 offices around the globe. Their primary focus is on resources driven construction markets in Power, Oil & Gas, and Industry & Mining and offers civil, mechanical, electrical and process engineering; general building and construction.

Due to expansion they are looking to appoint a Senior Level Commercial Manager to work within their South African MAJOR PROJECTS DIVISION on a permanent basis. This division specialises in very large, lucrative and complex projects throughout the group across the aforementioned disciplines. The role will either be based at head office or on project sites throughout South Africa.

Suitable applicants will come from a Quantity Surveying background and have gained site experience progressing from Trainee QS, through to Commercial Manager or Commercial Director.

We are not looking for Contracts Administration or Construction Lawyer and Arbitration professionals. Hence you must be able to understand commercial aspects from a QS point of view.

Any mechanical experience is preferred but not essential and you will be able to demonstrate experience at this senior level on major projects working for Main Contractors.
