ENGINEERS IN TRAINING (EIT) – RUSSIA

Smith International is a leading supplier to oil and gas exploration and production companies around the world with approx two-thirds of its oilfield revenues concentrated in markets outside the US.

Smith operates under three Business Units:- Smith Oilfield Segment, MI Swaco and Wilson. The Smith Oilfield Segment comprises all of the products and services offered by Smith which are not part of M-I SWACO or Wilson. They fall into three categories: Completion & Production, Drilling & Evaluation and Technologies

Due to our continued success and growth we are seeking candidates for our Engineers in Training Programme (EIT) which is designed to provide individuals with training and experience in all areas of Smith International’s product lines and provide a broad base of global experience to then provide opportunities for dynamic, varied and challenging career progression in Operational, Technical, Sales, Support and Management positions within the organisation.

Smith’s recruiting standards are high and we seek individuals who posses the following attributes:

Candidates must be technically qualified to Bachelor’s degree level in Engineering, Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering preferred or any other Advanced Science Degree with 2 years experience in field operations desirable but not essential. Candidates should also hold a full valid Driver Licence and possess the following skills and attributes:-

• Basic knowledge of product line and proper application of products and services
• Proficiency in use of computer based programmes related to application of products
• Understanding of hydraulics and rig operations
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• TOFEL certification (Test of English as a Foreign Language) required if English is second language
• Motivated and committed self-starter
• Flexibility to travel internationally
• Willingness to relocate where business needs demand

Duration of the training will be up to a maximum of 9 months dependant on allocation comprising class room based training at our headquarters in Houston and department and field training in global locations where individuals will be trained in our product lines. Following completion of training candidates may be required to relocate back to their allocated region or relocate to other regions within the Eastern Hemisphere.
