Plant Design Manager required for Nuclear Power Plant ProjectsWRS’s client have a substantial track record in the nuclear power sector, they provide project management and technical services to clients around the world. As the nuclear arm of a worldwide energy provider they are responsible for the projects related to the development of new nuclear reactors, from the pre-feasibility studies to final commissioning of the installations. Further to the development of projects, the division must also be familiar with and able to master the overall design of the main types of reactor concepts proposed by the designers and to follow the development of the Generation IV systems. Typical projects that could be assigned to the division for new Nuclear Power Plant projects are the following : - Pre-Feasibility studies (Conceptual Design) - Feasibility studies (Basic Design) - EPC-M or Owner's Engineer missions (Drafting of the Technical Specifications and of the Contractual Clauses, Bid Analysis and Comparison, Assistance for Negotiation and Contract Award, Construction Follow-up, Assistance for Commissioning…) - Due Diligence or Contract Review for participation in project developed by third parties The Role: As the successful Plant Design Manager your responsibilities will involve: - Supporting a Senior Expert and be involved in the section knowledge development in the general design of Generation III nuclear power concepts (of the light water PWR type but also of other technologies such as heavy water PWR) and of fusion reactors. In addition, activities for the 4th generation reactors are foreseen. - You will ensure the technical coordination of the activities performed by the technical disciplines for projects in these areas. In particular, you will take part in the drafting of the technical specifications for the construction of an EPR type reactor. - On basis of the reactor concept knowledge and of the general overview you have gained, you will participate in project development and ensure the coordination of the technical disciplines as well as the definition and the management of the interfaces between the procurement package suppliers. Qualifications: You have a master in Engineering and education in electromechanical engineering - You have a general knowledge of nuclear installations developed through participation in projects related to nuclear power plants for 5 to 10 years - You are logical, inquiring and critical mind, dynamic, rigorous, pragmatic - You have the ability to work autonomously; capacity to assume responsibilities and you can take initiatives - You are a team player; good listener and communicator - You are at least fluent in 2 of the 3 following languages : French, Dutch, English - You have the capacity to develop personal professional contacts There is a highly competitive salary and benefits package on offer, for the successful candidate as well as Relocation for International applicants.
