Geophysicist for Large Operator for North Sea Operations

A solid Geophysicist is required for a large operator to join their Development Teams in the Petroleum Engineering Department for their North Sea Assets.
You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects and both the new field developments and the continuing development of existing operated producing assets.
This role will be responsible for all geophysical aspects of assigned projects and you will ensure that all relevant geophysical data is utilised and that interpretations are embedded in the opportunity development plans.

Responsibilities include: Leading and providing input into the identification of drilling targets and other field development opportunities. The justification for acquisition of any new geophysical data in order to enhance the subsurface understanding of the reservoirs involved and mentoring junior staff in the department. You will need to have a good understanding of well planning.

The successful candidate will be educated to an MSc level or higher with an in-depth geophysical knowledge including advanced level workstation interpretation and mapping, quantitative interpretation, inversion, reservoir characterisation, AVO, structural interpretation, depth conversion and uncertainty analysis.
You will be able to demonstrate industry experience in field development planning and exploration work with at least one operator and have a track record of producing quality results within a time bound environment.
In addition, understanding of geology, reservoir engineering and an appetite to try out new technologies will be highly beneficial.
