My client is an international organisation who have operations across the globe to include the Middle East, Asia Pacific, Central Asia, Europe and more. They operate within the following sectors construction, mining, telecommunications, industrial engineering and infrastructure.

WRS have been appointed to help source senior management roles for their operations in Mongolia.

They are now looking to appoint a Procurement Manager and/or Procurement and Logistic Manager for a major rail operation across Mongolia to the Chinese border.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will be based in the Mongolian Capital- Ulaan baator you will be responsible for the purchasing and logistics of a major rail and mining project. You will have 4 purchasing professionals reporting to you and 4 expeditors.

The commercial team is responsible for the bulk products, it will be your responsibility to be in charge of the procurement of smaller but essential products such as health and safety equipment, stationary, tvs, camp equipment, sleeping bags etc…

You will have logistics and transportation experience. We seek someone who can ensure products are dispatched on time, process orders, coordinate 10 hour truck drives across country.

The requirements

• At least 10 years proven success within procurement/ logistics

• The candidate will need to be able to handle the cut and thrust of a fast paced project,

• Some one who can handle remote locations, has experience of managing and developing local staff in third world location.

• A mining/ rail procurement background

• Excellent references need to be provided.
