Up to €40,000 (dependant on experience)

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Welding Engineer to become part of a world-class organisation at the forefront of the Oil and Gas industry.

Reporting to the Manager of Quality, the primary responsibility of this role will be to assure the welding requirements for the Company are planned, assured and maintained to government, customer and Company requirements & standards. The position is based in Northern Germany with occasional international travel to other Company and vendor sites.


Specific responsibilities will include:

• Selecting welding equipment and consumables
• Developing and qualifying new welding procedures and techniques
• Reviewing all welding procedures and their qualifications to ensure compliance with changing international standards and customer’s requirements.
• Improving the present welding technologies and heat treatment facilities
• Maintaining and improving all Plant weld-related control documents
• Responding to Company and Vendor weld-related Non-Conformity Report repair requests.
• Reviewing and approving vendor welding procedures, in accordance with the applicable standards, and maintaining a database of the same.
• Working closely with project teams and other departments such as purchasing and quality.
• Performing weld defect data analysis and participating in defect reduction projects.
• Dealing with Vendor enquiries and audits on Company welding activities.

The successful candidate will have:

• Chartered Engineer status (C.Eng/Dipl.Ing)
• A degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, or Materials Science
• Demonstrable experience in the fabrication industry
• Specialised training in welding technology allowing them to qualify for the International Institute of Welding (IIW) International Welding Engineer (IWE/EWE) diploma.
• A professional membership to The Welding Institute (UK) is desirable but not essential

The Company’s official language is English and candidates must be fluent to business standard, both written and spoken.
