As Site Safety Officer, you will develop and maintain your visibility and presence on site, gaining the trust and confidence of worksite personnel, and providing proactive coaching on all SHE issues. You will contribute to building a culture of personal accountability, re-enforcing safe behaviours, and challenging at-risk behaviours.

The Site Safety Officer will coach and train the site workforce and management team, ensuring all project participants have the tools and knowledge which enable them to work safely, as per the relevant legislation, procedures and competence.

Other responsibilities of the Site Safety Officer include:
Arranging, attending and participating in weekly site safety steering team meetings, responding to any actions in a positive manner.
Monitoring fabrication and construction operations.
Assisting with risk assessments, lift plans and toolbox talks.
Reporting near misses and incidents immediately, participating in incident reporting investigation and follow up.
Looking for work related hazards and reporting them to the site rep.
Monitoring effectiveness of site safety programs.
Makeing suggestions on improving existing safety programs.

You will also assist with the implementation of all aspects of the HSE Management Plan and objectives on site. This will include undertaking auditing, coaching and support of vendors/sub-contractors, assisting them in achieving high standards of SHE performance as required by the project.

Competencies required:
Relevant experience + Engineering/Science Degree OR extensive experience + HNC/HND Engineering.
Chartered engineering or working toward chartered status.
Good understanding of safety legislation.
Familiarity with offshore production operations and the hazards associated with them.
Ability, attitude and behavioural qualities required to work in both large and small teams.
