The role of the Principal Consultant is to fulfill the day-to-day technical supervision and execution, of the preparation for, conducting, reporting, following-up and close-out of independent competent verification of safety/HSE critical systems and equipment for client – projects or operational assets. Responsibilities include: • Contract related: o Preparation, or review/acceptance of, Written Scheme of Verification/Examination o Preparation, or review and acceptance of, SCE/HSECES identification register o Preparation, or review and acceptance of, SCE/HSECES performance standards o Carry out SCE/HSECES performance review/audit/examination/witness in accordance with Written Scheme of Examination o Record and report all verification findings and follow-up with client in relation to acceptance, management and close-out of remedial actions o Maintain systems, tools and processes to deliver the above activities o Plan, supervise and manage the activities of assigned discipline verifiers o Coordinate with Project Manager regarding scheduling of resources, manning requirements, etc o Assist in business development activities; tendering, pre-qualification, etc o Assist in the development and enhancement of corporate and contract-specific execution processes, tools and systems o Assist in the in-house training and development of staff Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
The Principal Consultant will require the following skills, experience and qualifications: • Experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry including an experience in the provision of IVB/ICP verification and/or certification, classification services for project execution or operations/maintenance contracts. • Familiar with integrity assurance/verification of SCE/HSECES codes, standards and legislation associated with international companies and legislative regimes, including written schemes preparation and implementation, SCE identification and performance standards. • Ideally engineering degree. • A safety engineering and or asset integrity back-ground are preferred but not essential.
