4/4 RotationPurpose / Role To assist in managing the daily performance and operation of the Document Management Centre. This includes all DM activities required to meet the needs of the onshore and offshore operations within both the client's organisation and AMEC. Key aims and objectives To assist the DM Team Lead to deliver DM support To work in accordance to the applicable procedures - corporate or project Prime responsibilities and duties Process all documentation received in DM in accordance with prescribed matrices within agreed timescales To process both design and vendor documents in accordance to corporate or project procedures To accurately update information in the electronic document management system Perform supervisory duties as required to assist the DM Team Lead to run the Document Management Department Have a co-ordinated approach to resolving procedural issues in a timely manner Assign work tasks to more junior staff (if applicable) to achieve targets/milestones Assist in project close-out and handover/archiving activities Liaise with engineers, clients, suppliers or third company companies as required Allied occasional duties Deputise for DM Team Lead as required Assist junior team members with their duties Key internal interfaces DM Team Leader DM team members DM CoP Principal Engineering personnel Key external interfaces Client DCC as applicable Supplier DCC as applicable Likely Current Role: Already employed as a Senior Document Controller Competencies – role specific Capable of accurately updating information with an electronic information management system Capable of having a co-ordinated approach to resolving procedural issues in a timely manner Capable of processing both design and vendor documents in accordance with project procedures Have supervisory skills already developed Able to assign work tasks to more junior staff to achieve targets/milestones Capable of identifying and providing input to DM related improvement initiatives Capable of deputising for Supervisor or Lead in their absence (if applicable) Capable of assisting project close-out/handover/archiving activities Competencies – generic Sound computer skills Ability to work to given deadlines Ability to work with people at all levels – including the Client & Suppliers Capable of working on own initiative Carry out in-house training We are committed to the principle of equal opportunities and we wish to attract candidates with the relevant experience AMEC is a focused supplier of high-value consultancy, engineering and project management services to the world’s energy, power and process industries.
